Summary: Photographs primarily of Tucson buildings and homes designed by Merrit Starkweather, mostly from the 1930s to the 1950s, including images of the Pima County Courthouse and surrounding street; interior and exteriors of Dr. Don Campbell's dental office at 1145 N. Campbell; many views of Arizona Inn interiors, grounds and buildings; interiors of Paulos Cafe at 55 W. Congress; Rincon Stables on East 8th St.; Martin Drug Co. at 6th Street and Tucson Blvd.; Montgomery Wards on North Stone Ave.; Ryan Evans Drug Store soda fountain and counter; Fort Lowell School; Drachman School; Doolen School; Mission View School; Mansfield School; St. Mary's nurses residence and other buildings; homes in the University Manor subdivision and many homes in the El Encanto Neighborhood showing interiors and exteriors. There are interior and exterior views of the Amerind Foundation Museum; interiors of the Harold Bell Wright guest house; the French House on Ina Road which was incorporated into the Westward Look; and the Hoemako Hospital at Casa Grande. There are images of construction and completion of the Consumers, Inc. market at South 6th Ave. and 29th St. showing a luncheonette counter, check out lanes, cashiers, dairy cases, etc. Also present are image of gardens including the Tombstone garden tour, a project in Sasabe, Ariz., the Tucson Rose Garden at Reid Park, and private gardens. There are images of Smokey-the-bear in a cage and forest fire prevention signs. Some images also show views of the city north from Arizona Inn and northeast from Sixth Street. One view shows the Rodeo grounds from above. There are many images of billboards from other states.
